We are excited to announce that Sports Floors, Inc. is under new ownership! Since acquiring the Sports Floors business in 2020, Paulette S. Heney has stepped in as our company’s president, and Dan Heney has taken over as vice president of operations. Dan and Paulette Heney never thought that they would end their careers working together. Though they met in an office more than 23 years ago, they each followed their own career paths to get where they are today.
Meet Paulette Heney, President
Paulette stepped up to lead the Sports Floors team after acquiring the company in 2020. Her award-winning leadership skills and her commitment to mentoring and motivation are what help her develop incredible teams that exceed expectations.
Paulette jumped head-first into meeting and event planning before it was even an official career. She has spent over 25 years growing within the industry and understands how to juggle logistics, encourage and excite her teams, and pull off amazing meetings and events. She knows how to get the job done, from registering attendees to managing event production and logistics to handling a missing person in a foreign country. She looks forward to sharing her skills and leadership with the Sports Floors, Inc. team, and has even worked alongside the crews to install, sand and paint a court or two!
Meet Dan Heney, Vice President of Operations
Dan started at Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA) in 1994 and learned everything about the MFMA and the sports flooring industry while he served as the Association’s Technical Director, Executive Director and Executive Vice President.
During his time at MFMA, Dan performed more than 400 floor inspections, developed the MFMA Accredited Installers Program, wrote technical articles for publication, and presented continuing education presentations for architects, specifiers, and sport floor installers. Dan worked with both the MFMA Technical Committee and the MFMA Sports Floor Contractors’ Advisory Council to develop installation best practices, performance and grading standards for maple sports floor systems.
His whole career has specialized in the sports flooring industry, and he is excited to take on the new venture of Sports Floors, Inc.

Dan and Paulette look forward to continuing to build on the great history of service, quality, and trustworthiness that has been at the foundation of Sports Floors, Inc., and couldn’t be more excited to contribute their skills, values, and talents to this great industry.
