The team at Sports Floors, Inc. is honored to work with Division 1 schools and other colleges to provide safe, performance-boosting flooring systems to the Mid-South’s top athletes. At many of the schools we work with, we don’t just take care of the arena floor, but all gym floors around campus. This includes practice centers and recreational centers used and enjoyed by all students. We value the relationships we’ve built with athletic, recreation, and maintenance departments to make sure the future leaders in our communities can perform at their best. What We Do

Installation

We offer a wide variety of high-quality flooring systems from Connor Flooring and will work with you to determine the best option for each athletic facility around campus. Every system we offer provides comfortable and safe play. We’ll also help ensure that your facility’s conditions meet the needs of your floor, such as humidity requirements, drainage needs, and that the subfloor is appropriate for the floor we’ll be installing.

Once you’ve chosen your flooring system, it’s time to design your floor. We’ll make sure your colors and logo are the focal points of the completed floor. Since we have so much experience working with Division 1 schools, we know the NCAA requirements and regulations inside and out. No need to worry about having to make an unexpected change later on.

Maintenance

Once your floors are installed, the bulk of our relationship with schools is the long-term maintenance that will keep your floors at their best for years to come. All the floors we install should be recoated every year. This is often referred to as a screen and recoat. It’s a process that involves giving the floor a new coat of finish, specifically the shiny topcoat that keeps it sticky and protects the paint from chips and scuffs. Performing this maintenance faithfully can extend the lifespan of your floor and may save you a considerable amount of money in the long run, especially if we’re maintaining multiple floors on campus.

Your wood floor will need to be completely refinished every 8-10 years. We’ll sand the floor down to the bare wood to remove all finish, paint, and sealant before resealing and painting the floor, as well as applying two coats of finish. This gives you the perfect opportunity to update the graphics, colors, or layout of your floor.

Of course, yearly maintenance isn’t the only care your floors need. That’s why we work with your school’s maintenance staff to make a plan for the needed daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of your wood gym floors. Our team will give expert recommendations on what products to use and what to avoid and happily help with any issues or concerns that arise at any point during the life of your floor.

Warranties

Every customer we work with receives the same warranties on our work, because we stand behind the superior quality of the services and products we provide. Whether you’re a D1 school or a small church, we offer a 1-year warranty on our work. If we install your floor and you allow us to perform the necessary care and maintenance on your floor every year, the warranty will extend to the floor’s life. If another company works on your floor, the warranty is void, but we think you’ll love the service we provide.

Emergencies

Our expert team is always available for any emergency that our customers experience. Any facility can be the victim of circumstances beyond your control, from structural damage to flooding or even vandalism. We will get your floor back to pristine condition before game day.

Who We Work With

No matter the size of your school, church, or community center, we value the relationships we build and do our best work every single time. However, we understand that athletic, recreation, and maintenance directors at colleges and Division 1 schools are committed to their students and should be picky about the company that works on their facilities. Lucky for you, we have a proven track record. Here are some schools that Sports Floors, Inc works with:

Every school has unique needs, and we can adapt to any situation. Here are some examples of what we do for our schools:

Tulane: We take care of the arena floor, practice center, and the rec center all students can use. By combining the maintenance of all these floors each year, Tulane saves on their annual maintenance costs since we only have to make one trip.

Ole Miss: We take care of both rec centers on campus and work with the school each year by renting them an outdoor court for their Midnight Madness Square Jam event. This fun event brings together the Oxford, Mississippi community and gives us a chance to do something a little out of the ordinary.

The University of Memphis: We take care of all the athletic floors around campus, including the men’s court at the Fedex Forum, the women’s court at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse, and the student center court.

We’re also thrilled to work with the Memphis Grizzlies and have cared for their arena floor and practice courts throughout several trips to the NBA playoffs.
